Sileyn was seated in the main room of the infirmary, doodling on a pad of paper. It was a slow day, fortunately. In the infirmary, no news was good news. There had been a few upset stomachs, a broken finger, but nothing serious.
Even though he knew his duty was here, Sileyn almost wished he was in the North, helping the Healers there figure out what was causing this mysterious sickness. As if asteroids falling wasn't disaster enough, now there was some kind of strange plague going around. It was almost like the asteroids caused the illness, but that was ridiculous, of course. Rocks couldn't carry disease.
Sighing, he slumped a little in his seat, pen scrawling a spiral on the paper. Things just seemed to be getting worse and worse for Pern.

"Stupid, bloody, idiotic - ow!"
A wince of pain crossed the young, brown-haired man's face as a smaller figure steered him towards the Healer's domain, caring very little about what movements might cause injury. The source of the pain was all too easy to see: one arm was held out at an almost awkward angle, a gash stretching nearly from shoulder to wrist covered only barely by a tunic hastily torn into strips and the hand attached to the other arm, putting pressure on the bleeding wound. It wasn't doing him much good; there was a trail of faint bloody drippings from where Raleigh and Retselin had come.
Raleigh, of course, was the injured one. The elder brother was always the more reckless, and he'd been a wherry-brained fool, trying to explore the wilderness beyond the weyr and catching his arm on a horn-barked tree, ripping the tanned skin open. He'd have another scar from this expedition, he was almost certain, because though the cut was probably shallow, it was most certainly long, and not likely to heal prettily. Besides, he'd always scarred easy.
"Ow, Ret, watch it!" "It's your own fault you're hurt, so shush up!"
The younger lad was certainly not happy about having to drag his brother to the infirmary, either. He hadn't wanted to go out to the forests with Raleigh in the first place, but his brother wouldn't take no for an answer - and look where it had gotten them! Groaning, he half-shoved the taller boy through the doorway into the main room of the infirmary, sharp brown eyes finding the healer within immediately. "Excuse me, I'm sorry, but - we have a problem." A sharp glare indicated Raleigh, and told the other man quite exactly how he felt about this 'problem.'
The injured lad grinned sheepishly, pain still very present in his brown eyes, though he was working through it. He was used to hurting himself with his activities - but he couldn't help it if he liked to explore!
