It had taken her quite a while to reach the Weyr’s premise once more. She had been forced to take the long way around everything, and wade in chest deep water, with the bag above her head. Talk about complications! She had managed to make her way back safely, if not a bit disheveled. Her clothes were salt stained and stuck to her body, though they were no longer dripping. Sand was up to her elbows, in her hair, all over her clothes, and the only thing dry about her was the bag within her arms. Her skin had also been attacked with the grit and dirt of the beach, not to mention that she had the random egg shell and small rocks within her usual healthy locks.
Self-conscious, Minari forced herself to ignore the looks, keeping her head low and her rat’s nest hiding her face from view as she snuck within the Weyr’s caverns. It was hard to be stealthy when she had a bulging bag of Fire Lizard eggs. It was with a silent walk, and having memorized all the back halls of the Weyr that she made her way up the stairs and towards… Towards where?
Who do I give these to? She asked herself as she froze midstride, one foot still off the ground, staring at the bag within her arms. She wasn’t going to keep the fire lizard eggs. Knowing her luck, she’d end up breaking them, or impressing all of them, and that was not what she wanted. The Weyrwoman! She answered herself as she changed her direction ever so slightly and started to head up the stairs, two at a time, only to stop at the Weyrwoman’s door, her hand mere inches away from the handle. What was she doing here? There was no reason for her to give the Fire Lizard eggs to the Weyrwoman! She sighed, practically placing her head against the door, but now that she was here, there was no turning back.
“Weyrwoman Norali?” Minari called as she knocked on the door silently, bitting her lip faintly. The woman was going to take a heart attack at the sight of her. As long as it wasn’t too bad, she knew that she should be fine.

Knock, knock, knock, knock. Norali stirred. She'd had the rare chance for a nap this morning and it was an offer she'd quickly taken. Phaelith, too, had fallen asleep, making their weyr absolutely quiet. The knocking was loud enough to disturb her for Norali had always been a light sleeper. She groaned and her unhappiness woke her dragon.
What is it?
"Sommon at the door."
She confusedly pulled on a robe and stumbled to the door, trippong over her feet at least once. Opening, she had to blink several times to make sure she was seeing things correctly. Poor Minari was covered with all kinds of...sand...seaweed...and soaking wet. From her couch, Phaelith rumbled with laughter, seeing the girl through her rider's eyes.
You sure know how to pick 'um.
Ignoring her charge, Norali attempted to look not...so surprised.
"Hello, Minari. What is it you need, dear?"

Minari stood there nervously, staring at her feet as she felt her tooth press down harder into her lip, reminding her of the fact that she was still biting it. She sighed softly, ready to run away and ditch the eggs when she heard the footsteps on the other side of the door, approaching slowly. She felt the nervousness of meeting the Weyrwoman like this rise deep in her gut, regretting having not decided to take a bath first and come see her second. It wouldn’t have been that bad of an idea, after all, she was sure that the Weyrwoman wanted clean people at her door and not people that looked as though they had been cleaning runner stalls all day… With a sea-full twist.
When the Weyrwoman opened the door, Minari’s head snapped upwards as her eyes widened and a sheepish smile appeared upon her lips in greeting. Seeing the way that the other reacted to her presence however, she felt herself flinch internally. It had really been a bad idea to come here looking like this… And when she felt a tint of amusement touch her mind, she couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious, shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot as she allowed her eyes to drift away from the woman. She focused on the Golden dragon for a moment, nodding her head in faint greeting just in time to hear the woman speak to her.
“I come bearing Fire Lizard eggs…” Minari spoke softly, looking at Norali as she opened up the flap on her bag, showing the neat pile of Fire Lizard eggs stacked neatly with clothes in between, protecting them from harm. She didn’t want to say the reasons why she had been at the hunt, but she honestly didn’t have to. “I was at the beach, and I found them. I thought… Maybe you would know where to put them.” She admitted as she stared down at the eggs for a moment, her arms supporting the bag fully.

Any and all judgments about the Candidate's current state of attire flew out the window. Eggs! Firelizard eggs! That was truly wonderful! She had heard the rumors of swarms of firelizards all over the beaches surrounding the Weyr, but she believed most of them to be mere stories told to amuse the Weyrbrats. To think that a Clutch had actually found was truly uplifting news! This girl would make a handy rider in the future with an eye for Clutches like that!
"Very good, Minari, very good! This is magnificent!" She exclaimed reached down to pat the shorter girl affectionately on the head, as she might do to a younger sibling.
She paused for a moment, thinking on where she could store the precious little things. Not the kitchens. They were liable to get nicked there...
The Hatching Grounds would do nicely. I have the perfect spot to watch from here, even at night, Phaelith said lightly, turning her whirling gaze upon the Grounds she just recently vacated.
Thanks, Phay
"Phaelith suggests the Hatching Grounds and I couldn't think of a better place myself," Norali said aloud to the young charge standing before her. "Come, we'll go see that they're comfortable together."

Minari smiled as the Werywoman patted her on the head, gently pulling her head downwards at the motion without thinking about it. Her eyes peered upwards at the taller woman, yet she kept her appearance polite, despite the fact that she felt the sinking urge to just close herself off to everything. She only wanted to go back to her room, and rest. Today had been quite the adventurous morning. She could tell that the other women was happy. It made her feel a bit better for disturbing the other, especially when it was obvious that she had better things to do than to talk to a Candidate.
With her mind faintly open, she heard a buzzing noise in her head. Swiftly her eyes darted towards the Gold, only for a split second. Her eyes focused on the Queen, taking in the sight of her, and swiftly she turned her head away, knowing that it was impolite to stare. Besides, she didn’t want to appear like one of those air head candidates that couldn’t keep their eyes off of the Queen. She was a wonderful dragon by all means, but respect was to be given to the poor thing. Staring at her was simply not the right thing to do.
“The Hatching grounds do sound lovely.” She whispered, her voice distant for the first word before she brought herself back to focus. She didn’t ponder about the buzzing as she closed the bag once more, lifting her knee to support it’s weight. She simply kept her mind more clearly focused to the woman in front of her. Carefully she brought the bag straps over her shoulders, walking with her backpack in front of her, much in the way that some carried babies. She must have been out in the sun too long. It had that effect on her, sometimes.
“Absolutely! Lead the way, Weyrwoman Norali,” the candidate offered, flowing an arm before her as she backed out of the doorway, ready to follow the woman to the Sands.
