Character Info
Name: Nidoria
Rank: Weyrling
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual (Acts Asexual)
Appearance: Nidoria is unmistakably female. With lush, cropped brown hair, and eyes the colour of thick honey, she doesn’t exactly have a ‘tough’ look to her. She definitely has a young look about her, and will possibly always look a bit younger than her age, at least for the next little while. She reaches about 5’6 in height, but most of it is nearly all legs. Her skin has just the faintest of tans, despite the colder climate; however, travelling in the valleys almost all the time has given her an advantage for the weather. She has a petite build, but don’t misjudge the book by its cover, even if she appears frail and fragile, she most certainly isn’t. Beneath the loose layers of almost male-ish clothing is a well toned, lithe figure that she has gained by working hard, and many days on the run.
Personality: Nidoria isn’t what one could call a cold person, for she is well known to give people a brief smile every now and again. However, she isn’t what someone would call a friendly person either. Actually, what this girl is known for is her sarcasm and her attitude, for she has an attitude that can easily be compared to that of a wild stallion, and she isn’t afraid to use it at all. In truth, many could compare her to her own stallion, who is the same way. Fortunately for others, this isn’t the side that most people know. The sarcasm, yes; the attitude, no. Only her parents really know the attitude that she can muster, but she isn’t like that by nature. Yet living in the Hold that she does, with the contradicting beliefs between her parents and herself, it can be expected.
Luckily, outsiders know her as a lively young woman with a bright smile, yet some even go as far as to believe her meek and mild. She’s very quiet, and she keeps to herself, true. But she isn’t meek, not by far. She isn’t someone to be pushed around, and she’ll stand her ground quickly. Not to mention that she can have a flare of temper when pushed too far too. Some could call her a loner and that wouldn’t be far from the truth.
She’s very, very independent, unaccustomed to listening to no one but herself. It is to be expected that taking orders is not always an easy thing for her. She adores her freedom, and she does what she wishes, travels where she wants to, and some could call her adventurous, but whether that is the truth, or the simple fact of the matter that she doesn’t enjoy staying at her house, no one really knows. She’s to be taken with caution, because though she can appear to be the friendliest person on a job, the fact still remains that she is a very sarcastic female, eager to get out of the life that she is living at the moment, and do her own thing. She prefers to spend time alone in the woods than the hustle and bustle of a prosperous, and overly crowded (in her opinion) Hold. She can’t be bothered with the petty talk of female looks, or the gossip that travels. In truth, it sickens her. She doesn’t want anything to do with it.
Even then, she won’t go out of her way to be helpful, it could take enough emotion in someone’s voice to get her to actually get up and aid with the thing that she was asked. But she isn’t a cold person, nor is she distant. It’s to be expected that living in a wealthier family has had its toll on her. She expects people to be able to get work done on their own, yet there are limits, for unlike her family, she prefers to do that work on her own, and not have other’s do her things for her. It was how she was brought up, and it is how she looks at others. Had she had a different upbringing, she could have been different.
History: Born in Nerat Hold, ‘Oria was born in a wealthy enough family, and raised almost like an old noble of Earth, meant to know respect, and to have everything her own way. She was the third child in a family of five children, and unfortunately for her parents, she was the troublemaker.
From an early age, she wanted nothing to do with her family and their ‘formal’ ways. Instead, she spent most of her time running away from home for a day, and living in the forest than actually staying under a house. She only came home when she couldn’t find food for herself, or when she needed to steal another pair of her brother’s clothing for the run. It got to the point that her parents tried to bride the child, saying that if she staid home more, and get dirty less often, she’d get a pet that she could look after. So at the age of 7, Nidoria acquired Eiko, her little green fire lizard. Of course, the fire lizard only kept her at the house for the first few foursevendays, and then she was out all over again, this time, with a flit to unleash upon the world.
A few years later, Nidoria noticed that there was a Runner’s spot available, and offered herself to be trained for such a task, that her parents would have said would have been ‘fit for a man’. So at the age of 12, she began her training, and her parents unwillingly bought her a runner to work with, rather, they gave her the marks and let her buy it herself. And she didn’t buy the cheapest little thing, nor did she buy the prettiest or most tamed. She bought a wild stallion, which was perfect for what she needed, and a pain to train, but she adored every minute of it...
When the asteroid struck, Nidoria found herself not really affected in any way, though her parents fretted over what would happen to their household, and if they would have the pretty fabrics that they wanted. It only annoyed her beyond belief. The only major effect it had on her, was that she was sent running all around the continent, and she even got jobs to go to the South!
Pet Info
Name: Veskai (However, she often calls him, Zaereshir, kind of like a secret name so he knows that it is her on dark nights.)
Type: Runnerbeast
Color: Bay
Age: 7
Appearance: This runner is a beautiful creature, standing at 17 hands tall, he is very tall for an equine, however his build isn’t one of elegance, instead, it is one of power. Quite muscular, with a flowing black mane and tail, this stallion’s coat is a shiny darker brown in colour, while his legs are black up until just pass the knees, while his hind legs each have white socks. Upon his forehead is a small white marking, and his eyes are a deep brown. His head is almost always held up defiantly, and he most certainly has a stubborn appearance to him, which isn’t far off.
Personality Veskai is by no means a stupid creature; he is a smart stubborn equine with an attitude to boot. He is also very demanding in attention, and if someone else is around, and gets too close to his rider when she is grooming him, a good kick or bite can be in store, though Nidoria usually has a decent amount of control when it comes to him. He was a trainer’s nightmare, always ready to bolt, buck, and rear, he’s often done all three simultaneously, and as soon as attention is taking away from him, no matter what gait, he’ll stop. However, no matter how stubborn and dangerous, he’s a big baby when it comes to Nidoria. And though often searching for sugar cubes, he’s very attentive, and despite a few broken bones, and many bruises, and near concussions, he’s her baby, and he knows it.

Name: Eiko
Type: Fire Lizard
Color: Green
Age: 10
Appearance: Eiko is a very vibrant green, with the faintest splash of yellow upon her tail, making her quite distinctive. She a petite little thing, even as small fire-lizards go. But that doesn’t stop her from almost always flying about, and having a grand old time. She is more often seen hovering around Nidoria’s head, or playing with her hair, than resting on her.
Personality Eiko is a playful little thing, with the curiosity of a kitten. She simply loves shinny things, and the more she can find, the happier she is. She’s very adventurous, and always up for a challenge. Not to mention that she has a very short attention span, which made her a tad challenging to train, but these days, she’ll listen to her companion without a second thought. Sometimes a bit clingy for attention, she’s a very happy-go-lucky fire lizard.
Dragon/Wher Info
Name: Waenlath
Type: Dragon
Color: Obsidian
Age: Hatchling
Egg Leave Me Alone
Genealogy: Phaelith x Niketh
Appearance: It’s a good thing that this dragon lives in the usually bright and sunny Southern Weyr for her hide is as black as midnight on a moonless night. There is absolutely no variation in color across her body and Waenlath doesn’t have any graying or excessive shininess that her obsidian Clutchbrother has. Because of this and because of her size, she looks as intimidating and haughty as those dragons of her color normally are. Her fangs and claws are, like most obsidians, much longer and sharper than other dragons, those rigid spikes replace her molars, too, unlike Trogdorth’s. Everything about Waenlath looks frightening and her great muscle mass doesn’t help. As bulky as a bronze, Waenlath tends to look a lot larger than she really is, making her seem even more terrifying.
Because of her size, Waenlith is rather slow. With all the muscle she has to lug around, getting from point A to point B as a Weyrling will be slow going. It will take her some time to get used to her overly large body so that she won’t use up all of her energy just walking. In the air, too, her wings are long and wide, allowing her to fly well in the air. She just isn’t destined for those quick turns and rolls that smaller browns are. If anything, she can’t move quickly at all without risking snapping one of her wings.
Personality: This dragon personifies all that is to be an obsidian. She is sharp and biting, arrogant and aloof. No one is as good as she is and no one could possibly dare to understand her and her ways. That being said, she is a rather misunderstood dragon; Waenlith can’t go half a minute without putting her foot in her mouth or insulting someone, as she’s brutally honest. Frankly, she doesn’t honestly care whose toes she steps on, just as long as she’s made her point. Strongly assertive, she is a natural dissident to the hierarchy of the Weyr. She doesn’t understand it and doesn’t care to understand it, and woe be to any gold, bronze, or titanium who challenges her. Only under the most extreme circumstances will this obsidian submit to the authority of another dragon.
Much like her rider, Waenlith is extremely independent. She prefers to do things on her own, at her own pace, and only how she knows do so something. She takes advice and criticism rather badly, making her Weyrling training quite an ordeal for this dragon. However, she can be persuaded to change her mind about things, as she has a soft spot for dragons smaller than she who can easily influence her. She does enjoy the little freedoms that life offers her. She might not be fast in the air, but she can fly for hours and hours on end, just surging through the updrafts, enjoying the freedom in Flight. Waenlith might not sound like it, but she is a hardworking and diligent dragon. She feels that it is her personal responsibility to complete any task set to her Wing, her rider, and herself – whether or not she agrees with what the other dragon or rider has told her to do.
