Anyone Recruit You? My foot!
Character Info
Name: Nyveirrae Ithorqe
Honorific: Ny’rae
Rank: Weyrling
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Nyveirrae is not a man that you would want to mess with. Standing at a good 6’3” tall, he can be quite imposing to some of the shorter people around him. Standing on long legs, his height isn’t the only intimidating feature about him. His arms are well built, faintly muscular, and that firmness shows along his back and shoulder muscles. As far as features go, Nyveirrae isn’t very spectacular. He has naturally tanned skin, and jaggedly cut auburn hair that falls in every which direction around his face. His facial features are somewhat sharp, with an angular nose, and squared jaw. His eyes are a deep brown, almost black, which is possibly one of his most striking features, aside from his hips… Though tend to draw a bit of attention because a man such as him has faintly prominent ones. It tends to be amusing.
He’ll adorn himself in anything that he deems worthy, whether it be colourful or not. What is really intriguing about him, is that he collects jewelry and shinny things. Seeing him in fancy things shouldn’t come with too much of a surprise. Even if he is adorned in them… Call it a pass time…
Personality: Nyveirrae is a very outgoing person in the way that he adores to meet new people. His only problem is that he doesn’t exactly know what to say upon meeting the said people, and that usually leaves him a bit short on the conversationalist side. Being born in quit the conservative family, he tends to keep to himself a bit, only a little bit. This is because he knows that people aren’t going to like what he has to say most of the time. Somewhat cold, Nyveirrae isn’t the likeliest of people to run in when people need a hand. He has his generous moments. It’s true! Every man does, but there is no way that one
Quite laid back on most days, Ny tends to smile a lot. It gives him a very welcoming appearance on first glance, and the fact that his smile can sometimes be somewhat charming and appear honest only aids that case. In truth, he is a very bitter and judgmental person. He had it drilled into him that women were only there to work, and to bear children. They shouldn’t be allowed to be dragonriders because they are weaker than men. Try as he might, these thoughts always haunt him, even if he attempts to dislodge them from his mind. There is always some lurking feeling of superiority that never seems to leave. Saying that, he tends to hold his tongue. Where he might think it, he doesn’t let it show. He knows that it will only lead him to a miserable life in the end, and earn him a very nicely deserved backhand.
Being one who would love to get to know the true way of life outside of his family’s ways, Nyveirrae has a very high sense of trust and loyalty. Friends, teammates, and family are supposed to stick together unless someone pulls the wrong string. He is quite to give his loyalty to anyone who he feels won’t be too easily insulted if ever his true nature escapes. Break the trust, he turns somewhat vicious. It’s the same thing with his anger. Corner him and challenge him, he might just pick the person up, and threaten them, maybe even walk away. Annoy him deeply, and he’ll probably punch the person across the face. Let’s just say that he sometimes gets his priorities messed up.
History: (Now for more fail hard!) Born in the Southern Hold, Ny was raised in a very conservative family. They were strong believers that men were better than women, and that there was never anything worthy in being a dragonrider unless you had rank. Homosexuality was the biggest disgrace someone could commit upon their family, and anyone who isn’t of a noble-like status should be looked down upon. Well, it is safe to say that his life was quite different compared to some people who didn’t have to go through these problems. He was raised in the knowledge of smithing, since being a harper, or even a healer was too ‘womanly’ a job for one of such a proud birth.
Despite being born inside a household such as the one in which he was born, Nyveirrae always saw the world a tad differently when he matured. He could see that life outside of his house took a different direction, that it wasn’t so set in its way. Thus when the Weyr came and searched him, he gladly went with them, wanting to see a different life despite his strict bringing. To be allowed to go, he had to promise his parents that he would get a nice ranking dragon, which he expects, of course, because there is no one better than him. Now he roams around the Weyr, where he is constantly baffled by the sight of homosexual men, and women who won’t stand their ground. He tries to act pleasant, and he succeeds most of the time, but he is eternally grateful that his father brought him up to be a lier, and able to keep his thoughts for himself, or he would have been kicked out on the first day. (/End Fail. Will be touched up when I get to know him more.)
Dragon Information
Name: Markleth
Type: Dragon
Color: Brown
Age: Hatchling
Egg Lonely Hearts Club
Genealogy: Phaelith x Niketh
Appearance: Out of this unusual Egg comes very unusual dragon. It's...a brown. A small, runty, stunted brown. It's apparent by his size that he'll never out grow a green and it is doubtful that he'll even reach maturity. However, he is built proportionately and seems very strong and healthy. If he does happen to live to maturity, healers doubt he’ll grow any larger than roughly 21 feet. How he managed to be so underformed is a completely mystery to the healers who examined him after his Impression, but he doesn't look too off for it.
His limbs are actually rather long proportionally to a green's (as he's the closest they can size him to). Markleth's wings are long and shapely; if they were on a larger dragon they'd be perfect for endurance, but with his size, they'll only prove to heighten his aerodynamic prowess. He's incredible in the air, his slick dark chocolate hued hide cuts through the air like butter. He is far more nimble in the air than any green, but perhaps less so than Kosarth.
Personality: In spite of his size, Marketh seems completely unaware that there is anything the matter with him. He sees that the other dragons of his color are tremendously larger than he, but he cannot understand why it is so not right for him to be so different from them. He also doesn’t understand the world around him and is insatiably curious about everything and anything. Every other sentence that comes from Marketh is “why?” or “how come?” or “what?” He must know everything and he must get into everything. If he were human, he’d be the type of person who enjoys taking things apart just so he could put them back together again. And indeed, he attempts to – or will once he matures enough to hunt his own kills. Everything is a game to Marketh and everything offers the chance for him to learn a little more about himself, his rider, and the world that he lives in.
Like his rider, who tends to smile quite a bit, Marketh is usually always in an exuberant mood. It is hard to make this little dragon upset, frustrated or angry. He’s got a childlike happy-go-lucky personality that charms every dragon he meets. Funnily enough, he is completely unlike his rider in the respect that he cherishes and is grateful for every single living life from the smallest insect to the largest of all dragons. He believes very firmly that everyone is equal and everyone is special and important in their own way. Strangely enough, as well as he gets along with females – and he gets along with them very well – he doesn’t care too much for them romantically outside of Flights. Oddly, he prefers to snuggle up to dragons of the same gender as he, especially Kosarth, if they’ll let him.
