Character Info
Name: Az’re
Rank: Ex-Wingleader, bronzerider
Age: 25 turns
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Born with golden-chocolate brown hair, and sparkling midnight blue eyes, Az’re appears nothing short of mischievous. Of average height, nearly 5’10, with skin a creamy colour, he has a frame that was built for the task of a dragonrider with the capacity to keep a faint innocent appearance in his eyes if ever he was caught. All this resumed, he’d be an expert if nearly getting one’s self killed was an occupation. Always seen dressed neatly, well around authorities, Az’re always seems to have his hair neatly brushed and his clothes nicely tucked in. However, as soon as the so called authority leaves, or if he is around good friends that are in the authority, he is quick to run a hand through his hair, and simply allow his shirt to remain unbuttoned in a casual look. Heh, he could seriously care less about what people think of him, as long as he’s comfortable.
Personality: Cocky, arrogant, and a senseless risk taker, Az’re is your typical run of the mill bronze rider. He has an attitude that can get him in a lot of trouble, and possibly the stupidity, or courage – which ever works – to test on everything that he plans. The scary part about this is: he was a Wingleader at his old Weyr. Okay, so this probably isn’t the side of him that he showed the Weyrling Master while he was in training, or the Weyrleaders when around them, however he does keep the attitude above when he is around close friends only. When around people who he has to impress, he is responsible and caring enough to get the job done. Also, when in the presence of others, he isn’t one who will take unnecessary risks that may involve those people. So, when he was Wingleader, he rarely took a risk that could harm any of his wingriders, however, when he was amongst a few close friends… Let’s just say that no matter what the dare, he’d probably do it. The odd thing about this is that despite this fact, he still managed to keep his position, even when he was caught doing crazy acts. He can be counted on for things that are important. And being fairly good of nature, he’s always up for anything. That probably is what saved him.
History: Az’re was born a Weyrbrat, and some people think that he will forever be a Weyrbrat, of course, he doesn’t attempt to contest them. They can think what they want, and he will think what he wants. Born in Benden Weyr, he grew up and lived there for most of his life. He was the son of a one of the working women in the lower caverns and a blue rider. Of course, with his breeding, no one would ever think that he was going to get very far.
As a child, he was troublesome. He was always getting into trouble, always found in places where he wasn’t supposed to be, or doing things that would get him in trouble. As he grew older, he learned how to test the limits of what he could do, and learned to find escape routes that were secretive enough to get him out of trouble, and keep him out of trouble. It wasn’t that he didn’t work, he simply wasn’t dedicated enough in the chores. He was also an unnecessary risk taker, which aided no one.
When he was eleven, he was pretty good at getting around the whole Weyr simply through back hallways, and underground tunnels. It was beautiful and magnificent, to him. He was also punished because of a few stupidities to not participate in the next hatching. Of course, Azaidemre being as he was, be found a way to find candidate robes, sneak onto the sands, and participate in the hatching…He didn’t impress. And got sent to a Hold for a few years where he was miserable. He also didn’t give up hope, and he wasn’t to stand again until he was 18.
Well.. When a bluerider came on search, and said that he had potential, for Telgar Weyr, he jumped at the occasion. It was during that hatching that he impressed his bronze Xitherlyth, when he had been expecting nothing more than a blue, as they told him that he would get.
More unfortunately to Benden was when he transferred back into the Weyr, 3 years later. He was the biggest risk taker than many had ever seen, and his antics in the air with his dragon were heart-attack worthy. He was practically grounded from fighting thread, but his father decided that it was best to have him fight it, perhaps it would make him more wise. Which it did, but only for threadfall.
It was at the age of 19 that he became a Wingleader for three turns. He was a dedicated leader that brought his Wing into the air without a problem, that had managed to get the respect of most of his wing mates. He had a mind for the fall, and he knew how to approach it. He also taught his riders a few defying the rules tricks that managed to keep a few of them alive. He was a risk taker, and he did things that made people think that he would break his neck, but it didn't mean that he was reckless. He was actually somewhat cautious in the air, confident in what he did, and he would never have placed a Wing in danger. Dragon life wasn't worth his entertainment. He was well liked, but after a few years at Benden, he wanted to take another try at Telgar, to see how far he would prosper, to see if Benden was really the homeland that he would never be able to leave... That choice was made for him...
A year later, Benden Weyr was destroyed, along with a lot of his old friends, and his dreams of returning. He had lost everything that had been dear to him, aside from his dragon. Of course, he had a Wing at Telgar, but after the attack, he chose to step down, finding himself unable to cope. He needed something mindless. Something that wouldn't remind him of the tragedy... Focusing only on fighting, and not thinking of the lives that could be lost around him worked. What also saved him was his dragon. As Xitherlyth started to forget about the accident, when it stopped haunting his rider's dreams, he forced himself to heal. He knew that the thoughts would only cause his dragon a pain that was very acute, very real. He knew that his bonded wouldn't know how to act. When they offered him his position back, he politely declined.
After another year in Telgar, he decided that it wasn't worth it. He was merely a shadow of his former self, and he needed an utterly different location in order to clear his mind. So, when he asked his Weyrleader to let him go, with grief he did. The Weyrleader even kept secret the reason as to why Az're stopped being a Wingleader, because the bronzerider requested it. The man wanted to heal, he wanted to start his life again, and he felt that going to another Weyr would make things better. The bronzerider sincerely hoped that he would one day be able to heal from the disaster, and he didn't trust his mind. He didn't want Southern Weyr to shove him in another leading position, he wanted to just go in, with as blank as a background as was needed. After that time, he went to Southern, ready to start his life anew, making this a new beginning.
Today, he can still be found there.
Dragon Info
Name: Xitherlyth
Color: Bronze
Age: 10
Genealogy: Gold Velluth & Bronze Kirdith
Appearance: Xitherlyth is just a bit under the larger size of the bronzes, but above average, 32 meters from nose to tail tip. His hide has a very metallic sheen to it, splotched with a bit more green than with brown. However, his face does have a certain mask that seems like a very light bronze, turning darker down his neck until the rest of his hide battles between the other two, darker, colours. As lean as dragons get, he doesn’t have the dainty look that certain dragons get. Instead, he looks a tad lithe. He was built for acrobatics and showing off. Of course, with the training that his rider must have given him, there is no surprise there.
Personality: Xitherlyth is a sweetheart, when he wants to be. Kind and gentle, he wishes no ill on anyone in the world. But that calm and gentle nature is bellied by his competitive nature, and the fact that he does enjoy the nice prank. Having obviously gotten it from his rider, he can be sarcastic at times, and he knows his rank very well. He doesn’t enforce it upon others, since he isn’t as burly as some of the bronzes, but compliments are still things that cause his ego to grow abnormally.
((So I don't remember the dragon that well... Shoot me! xD))
